Brief Description

The intention of Telefonica O2 was to to improve the area of project managment and lmplementing changes in its services portfolio. The company decided to launch supportive Project & Portfolio Management (PPM), a software tool. The key preliminary step was carrying out the „PPM launching necessity analysis “, its objective was to analyze the state and existing processes of project managment in IT net T02 and also the processes in launching new products and services.

A process covering the whole life cycle of the project from the first phase of the roposal to its finish was launched.

Further Information

Project focused on the analysis of PPM launching for new products managment in the areas, where organizational devision T02 IT or Network was taking part. The objective of the project was to anaylze and solve following areas.

  • the first phase of proposing the project

uniting various approaches to project management in various organizational devisions

  • solving the frequent changes of project priorities
  • increasing the effectivity of working on projects
  • improving the abiliity to keep the deadline
  • removing the uneven drawing of the resources
  • improving the reporting

During the analysis important findings for connecting the project managment related to the development of new products and internal procceses of individual organizational divisions were revealed. Joint procedures for distributing the resources to the projects were defined. A process covering the whole life cycle of the project from the first phase to its ending was created and specified. It was made according to TO2 methodologies and using the PPM tool.

Also the roles were defined in harmony of the TO2 project managment methodology and together with the client we defined obligatory watched atributes of individual projects. As previously we strictly respected the needs of our client.

The analysis outputs are the key outputs for deciding about the choice and subsequent implementation of PPM tool.

The project began in January 2009, it was finished in 2 months.
